Hi, I’m Ifetayo Harvey.

I’m a writer, advocate and speaker. I am the Founder of the POC Psychedelic Collective and a student of Somatic Sex Education. I started writing in high school as a monthly contributor to my hometown paper, the Post and Courier. In college, after interning at the Drug Policy Alliance I spoke at the International Drug Policy Reform Conference about my experience of growing up with my father in prison. Months later, I shared my story on National Public Radio.

Since then, I’ve gone on to speak, write articles and contribute to books related to parental incarceration and the war on drugs. As the Founder of the POC Psychedelic Collective, I’ve built a platform for folks of color to learn about and create community around psychedelics.

I am an avid hobbyist. I started playing trumpet at 11 years old and euphonium at 14 years old. From high school to college, I played in marching, symphonic and jazz bands. In NYC, I am a member of the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps. I also enjoy a good workout, photography, making soap and watching television shows and movies.

What People Are Saying

I’m always inspired by the way that Ifetayo works to ensure that people of color are both centered and empowered in conversations about psychedelics and mental health, spaces that our people have historically shied away from to our detriment.

Ife is highly professional and collaborative when it comes to project management. She does this by setting expectations, deadlines, and delegating tasks. Her thoughtfulness and attention to detail has ensured in that past that our work was completed and executed flawlessly. I highly recommend working with Ife for any project and/or collaboration.
